Build Plate Help

Most problems are solved by using less adhesive. If you need more adhesive for demanding jobs apply a second coat after the first dries

Textured PEI

The surface texture mechanically breaks surface tension as you apply, so the adhesive self-levels naturally. Use thin coats worked into the surface and finish spreading before it starts to dry. This is the easiest application scenario.

Smooth PEI

Don't use too much!  Smooth PEI is hydrophobic and our adhesive's higher surface tension means it will pull and streak on the first pass rather than self-level. This is normal. Apply enough for even coverage and keep working the surface with the foam as it dries. The carrier evaporates as you work and the film will level out on its own. If it pools it's ok to keep working it smooth. Takes about thirty extra seconds once you know the technique.

3d Effect Plates

Use a very thin coat worked into the surface as it dries. Like textured PEI, the surface detail breaks surface tension and the adhesive self-levels naturally.  However too much adhesive will fill the texture detail and reduce the effect on your print surface. It's ok to do it in sections.  Application really shines in this application.
